◎简 介
美国林肯总统以解放黑奴的功业留名青史，但约翰．福特导演的这部林肯传记片却将剧情焦点放在律师时代的年轻林肯身上。他刚在伊利诺州进入社会工作时，对自己的前途并无定见，曾经在女友的坟前默默祈祷，渴望获得指引。后来决定进入法律界，接手了一些辩护的案子，但没有受到重视。直至他卷入了朋友的两个儿子被控谋杀的案子中，林肯办案的聪明和勇敢才受到瞩目，从此平步青云。本片采用严谨的片厂制作方式来突显其舞台化剧力，崭露头角的小生亨利．方达将主人翁的精神和气概刻划得入木三分，是与《乱世佳人》同年面世的一批好莱坞佳作之一。
